Palestinians in Gaza have long mastered the art of tunnel building. It’s an art born out of necessity due to Israeli blockade against them.

Israel tightened its blockade with the election of the Islamist party Hamas in 2006 and has only continue to limit the amount of food and resources allowed in the Stripe. To circumvent such an inhumane blockade, the Palestinians have built miles and miles of tunnels for the purpose of importing food and resources from neighboring Egypt.

Yes, even live goats get through.

The tunnels though may occasional serve more than that purpose. Sometime they become a “Tunnel of Love.”

It’s amazing what people will do for love. A Palestinian woman has braved the threat of Israeli bombs by crawling more than one kilometre through a dangerous underground tunnel between Egypt and Gaza just to marry her sweetheart.

Nothing will stop Palestinians from meeting and making more and more Palestinians to keep alive the cause.
