Tunisia :

The Tunisian security service is tired. After running out of journalists, human rights activists, and their lawyers to abuse, they have turned sights on wild boar.

Just like the inept Egyptian officials, they are taking measures to protect the populace against swine flu by slaughtering wild boar even though there is no medical mandate to do so. This is quite obnoxious. This is a meaningless approach that is based on casually thinking that “while, like, it’s a swine flu to after the pigs!”

Tunisia Goes After Wild Boar
Does this look appetizing?

Well, hopefully nothing bad will come out of it.

This is news to me. I never thought Tunisia had any pigs in the country. Egypt is 10% Christian [Coptic] so it did not surprise me that there are so many pigs there. But Tunisia is 99.9% Muslims and the equally anti-pig Jews are the only minority.

But, alas, Tunisia does have three pig farms that serve only visiting Europeans. Though Tunisians can buy pig at a supermarket, but I always thought it was imported [and it may be].

And now with the swine flu can we finally agree that we Muslims and Jews have been right about pigs. I just saw a video of Egyptian pigs and they swim and eat filth. They eat their own shit and the shit of others. A pig will eat whatever you put in front of him. And what the pig eats, you eat! Pigs are disgusting, I can’t stand the sight of them. Ugh!!!

Given the diet of pigs, it should surprise no one that pigs carry so many diseases.

"And what the pig eats, you eat!", Highly illogical statement.

We eat the flesh of the pig and not what is inside his stomach

To Bryan & Ryan:

The expression ”you are what you eat” has a double meaning here. Although I’m a secular Jew who has eaten pork in his time, it’s not something I can’t live without.

At the time they were written, before the days of refrigeration and pasteurization, the Judaic and Islamic dietary laws made sense– and can you PROVE that the pork you’re served was cooked thoroughly and properly? If it wasn’t, swine flu may be the least of your worries. Have you ever heard of trichinosis?

I do agree that going after wild boar because of swine flu in farm animals is uncalled for– there’s no evidence that wild boar are affected and they live a different life-style than farm-raised pigs... and they taste different, too.
