There are few Zionists leaders who irritate me as much as Israel’s President Shimon Peres. He is indistinguishable from Netanyahu in action when he was briefly prime minister.

In the 1996, Peres attacked a Lebanese compound in Qana and killed over 100 innocent Arabs. He thought such a move would bolster his national security credentials in the election. This is Israel: a society where killing children actually helps one’s electoral fortunes.

But Peres likes to be Sparta and Athens at the same time. To kill innocents but then speak self-righteously about peace. I loath such duplicity and much prefer the honest racism and atavism of Lieberman, Sharon and Bibi.

Peres is now making the rounds again trying to pretend he is some sort of voice for wisdom. Attending Washington’s annual American Israel Public Affairs Committee Policy Conference, Peres stated that no one threats Iran and then moved on to issue a threat.

He was interviewed by CNN’s Wolf Blizter [who started his career in “journalism” working for AIPAC] and sought to promote the idea of a Sunni-Shia split in the Arab world. While it is true that there was a Sunni-Shia split in the Arab world in recent years due largely to an unholy alliance between Saudi Arabia, Israel and al-Qeada [I remember negative views of Shias even reached Sunni Tunisia]; such a split no longer exists. The Iraq theater, so to speak, has quieted down.

But even when there was a split, Arabs did not turn against Shia Hezbollah or harbor suspicions about Iran’s nuclear program. The only Arabs who did are those “leaders” whom are nearly all clients of the United States.

Peres spoke on CNN about the division [it no longer exists] and stated that Arabs no longer view Israel as the enemy, but, rather, Iran. This is stupidity on stilts. Even if Sunnis still harbored animosity toward Shias, they would still never prefer Israel over Iran. Again, even in the days of the split they nearly all cheered Hezbollah.

Peres is insane if he thinks that Arabs no longer view Israel as the enemy when that apartheid, terrorist state just killed over 900 Arab civilians, of whom over 400 were children!

Some Arabs may be wary of Iran’s nuclear program, but they view Israel as a bigger threat against the Arabs than any Iranian bomb which will never be aimed at Arabs.

What the Israelis want to do is rally Arab support behind them. They may have a shot if the Palestinian-Israeli conflict is resolved. But until Israel occupies and kills Palestinians there is no chance Arabs will ever side with a nation that is clearly their enemy. Israelis also want to pretend that since, as they claim, the Arabs no longer worry about Israel then the Palestinian issue should be secondary to Iran.

It is backwards. First, Arabs care more about Palestinian today than any previous generation. Second, if Israel wants at least a tactic alliance with Sunni Muslims then it must grant Palestinians statehood for Iran is secondary to Palestine.

But an obnoxious buffoon and media whore like Peres cannot understand such complexities.
