Tell Jordan's King To Shut Up!

There isn’t an Arab leader who irritates me more than King Abduallah of Jordan. He isn’t the worst leader in the region; Abduallah of Saudi Arabia is more backward, Ben Ali is more repressive, and Gaddafi is the craziest; but the sight of either one of them doesn’t hold a flame to my annoyance with King Abduallah.

The reason is that Abduallah is a act unlike the others. Ben Ali and King Saudi do not chase Western media, neither do any other Arab so-called leaders. And Gaddafi is just happy to be insane. But Abduallah and his wife are obsessed with their image in the West. His wife has been on Oprah, and attends Bill Clinton’s annual narcissistic festival known as the Clinton Global Initiative. They seek to craft an image of enlightened moderation, they are anything but. His wife is known to be an arrogant and dismissive woman. But that’s just the wife. Abduallah has nothing original to stay. And besides speaking accent English, this idiot also speaks accented Arabic due to his upbringing in London.

Abduallah is one of those people who desperately wants to be seen as a friend by the West. Friend or not, he can’t deliver. He has no credibility, his country isn’t even rich so he can’t buy anyone off.

He comes to the United States to do nothing but pander and pretend that he is one of the good guys in the region. Quiet the contrary, this guy is slowly building an even more repressive dictatorship. And he has the temerity to come to the United States and present himself as a liberal leader. I found this video of him almost impossible to watch:

Visit msnbc.com for Breaking News, World News, and News about the Economy

How dare he! The Jordanian intelligence service is notourius for its torture. Even Hollywood portrayed this in “Body of Lies.” And this phony jerk has the temerity to come to the United States and speak solemnly about American torture when his nation he engaging in far worse torture. And at least America has stopped, and it was never that bad, the press is reporting on it and people may be held accountable. None of that is happening in Jordan where torture, far worse torture, is du jour for the intelligence service. Look at his face and they he speaks, as if he finds torture so unworthy. He doesn’t he stop it under his rule?

And I was wrong about him not being the “good guy.” In American eyes, he is. After all, he made peace with Israel and is submissive to the United States. That is all the United States cares about, and the more submissive Arab rules are to the U.S. they more freedom they have to oppress their people. That is why “rogue” Syria is always singled out for its human rights abuses, Jordan and Saudi Arabia get off scoot free. Notice that the moderator did not bring up the issue of Jordanian torture when Abduallah was acting shocked about America’s by comparison child’s play. Don’t you think he would ask Bashir Assad about Syrian torture?

I CAN’T STAND THIS GUY!

All of this must be exposed through investigation and testimony. Until then, the culprits will continue to lie and escape prosecution.

David Gregory should have given Abdullah a talking points memo (which would state to use the term "prisoner abuse") prior to the interview. Heaven forbid that the public gets stirred up and revolts against the establishment.

I have an honest question. The CIA destroyed the interrogation tapes, did they not? Can we prosecute anyone for the destruction of evidence?

Who the hell cares what King Abduallah says or thinks. Tell him to go for a camel ride.
