Qatar Airways apparently names all its air crafts after places in Qatar. So, for instance, instead of an air craft being called 7456 [whatever] it is named after, say, Zubara.
In solidarity with Gaza, Qatar has named an air craft “Gaza”.

[Houston Business Journal]
“Qatar Airways customarily names each of its aircraft after place names within the State of Qatar, but we have made an exception in this case,” said Chief Executive Officer Akbar Al Baker at the dedication ceremony in the capital Doha.
The Gaza craft will be one of the two planes to fly direct from Houston to Doha. Houston is America’s energy capital and Qatar has the world’s largest natural gas reserve. Apparently business is increasing between the two cities and a direct route will cut out Dubai is a connection-point.
This is all well-and-good, but such gestures are meaningless unless followed by more substantive action. It should be recalled that Qatar has - or had - the warmest public relations with Israel over all other Gulf nations [Saudi Arabia though is closest with Israel, they just keep their contacts secret.] Qatar allowed Israel to open a diplomatic mission in Doha and the Israeli President Shimon Perez actually visited the nation. Qatar and Israel have further discussed trade possibilities. Israel is in great need of natural gas, and Qatar was plenty of it. The two nations discussed a pipeline deal that will allow Israel to buy Qatari gas. Of course, nothing has been done on that ground since Qatar would not trade with Israel until a two-state solution is reached. Nonetheless, while Palestinians were being collectively starved in Gaza - an international war crime - Qatar was getting chummy with the Zionist state.
Fortunately, Qatar cut all ties with Israel during the recent Israeli massacre of Palestinians in Gaza. An attack that killed over 1,300 Palestinians, of whom over 400 were children.
Qatar should remember the horrors of Gaza and not let time wash away the images of Gaza. My worry is that Qatar will restart relations with Israel even before the end of the Occupation and the establishment of a Palestinian state.
If Qatar really is in solidarity with the Palestinians, then it should remain steadfast in its opposition to Israel until a peace is reached. Otherwise, spare us the gimmicks.
