I am not the type to ever take interest in what socialite Paris Hilton has to say, but when it comes to the Middle East my ears are always open.
The Hilton hotel chain heiress recently landed in Dubai to film a new season of her MTV show “Paris Hilton’s New BFF.” The franchise is keen for a new look after two seasons in Los Angeles.

The show will be filmed over three weeks in Dubai. Is it just me or with the kuffiyah craze has the Middle East become vogue? Paris Hilton apparently thinks so.
Entering a press conference in a green abaya and with the Arabic greeting “Salam Alaikum,” Paris exclaimed that “Dubai hot, hot, hot and not just literally.”
She then added that she “love[s] the Middle Eastern culture and want to learn more about it. The women here are very beautiful and their dresses are certainly a lot more elegant than what women wear in Hollywood.”
Before heading to Dubai, Paris said she “wanted to know everything about this place first because I wanted to make sure everything was OK.”
Filming in Los Angeles is different than typing in the Middle East and stated she wants “to respect everyone here.”
Her previous two seasons featured sexual explicit scenes, a lot of drinking and swearing. Such features will not be in Dubai. But Paris is not dismayed, stating: “I will not make my girls do anything like that as I respect the culture of the UAE and Dubai is a far classier place anyway.”
Let’s face it, Arabs are the new Blacks.
