America’s genius plan to install a puppet for Israel and the United States has come up with a new idea: build prisons.

In accordance with American security envoy Keith Dayton, the United States will help with the building of 52 new prisons along the West Bank. This is ostensible part of the plan to bolster Fatah security forces.

Land being scarce as it is on the West Bank with illegal Israeli settlements, military occupation posts and Jewish-only roads, the last thing Palestinians need is land being allocated for prisons.

Why is America interested in so many prisons? Because its ineffective puppet fighters have to resort to thuggery to maintain their position in the West Bank. Fatah has no credibility. It is a corrupt organization that is seen as collaborationist. One may hope that at least it has delivered something for the Palestinians being so subservient to the apartheid regime of Israel. But, alas, it has not. Israel continues to build settlements and kill hundreds of innocent Palestinians.

In recent weeks, Fatah has resorted to harassing academics critical of it. The United States’ gamble is that Fatah needs to be a counterweight to Hamas. But without delivering for its people, no matter the brutality it may impose [and it cannot out due Israel in this regard] it will not prevail.

So instead of pointless prisons that are built with the intention of locking up Hamas support, why doesn’t Dayton get the Israelis to stop with the settlements. Or use that money to invest in Palestinian education and entrepreneurs. But then such a policy would be beneficial to the Palestinians, and that’s just not American’s goal.
