It did not take long, but Obama has firmly established himself as the puppet of the Israeli prime minister Benyamin Netanyahu. First, after placing his credibility on the line and for months demanding a “freeze” to illegal Israeli settlement construction, Obama came face-to-face with Netanyahu’s arrogant refusal and instead of threatening a cut in U.S. aid the U.S. president actually blinked and changed his request from a “freeze” to “restraint”.
Obama: Netanyahu's Puppet
Netanyahu could hardly contain his glee knowing that he just stood up to and defeated the most powerful man in the world - a leader of a nation that Israel can ill afford to irritate given aid and diplomatic dependence.

Netanyahu was incredibly dismissive of Obama - showing absolutely no genuine concern for the president’s views. If Obama had any courage he would have threatened to let Netanyahu float alone in the world. But instead Obama has been giving in to every Israeli demand with no reciprocal gains from Israel. Obama wants Israel to cease settlement construction, Israel refuses.

Instead of cutting aid or passing a United Nations Security Council demanding Israel end illegal settlement construction, Obama, instead, gives into Israeli demands, helps Israel bury a United Nations report accusing the nation of war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza, and tells the Israelis that the U.S. only continue to maintain the double-standards of turning a blind eye to Iranian, I mean Israeli, nukes.

And now Obama actually panders via satellite:

U.S. President Barack Obama surprised attendants of the 2009 Presidential Conference with a special recorded message, in which he called Israeli-U.S. relations a “bond that is much more than a strategic alliance.” “The American people and the Israeli peoples share a faith in the future and believe that democracies can shape their own destinies and that opportunities should be available to all,” said Obama, in a message apparently unanticipated by the conference participants, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

What’s the point of this? Is Obama so naive as to believe that if he panders to Netanyahu the far-right leader will actually accept Obama and Palestinian demands? This is indignity. Does Obama take the time to send greetings to other second annual conferences held by other foreign leaders? Why is a pointless and second annual - Israeli president Peres just started this last year because he loves media attention and getting praise - conference in a foreign nation worthy of the American president’s attention. It is not that I am not a fan of Israel, but what’s the point of this? Why is this important? The British prime minister holds conferences too, will Obama make an appearance there? And Obama already delivered his propaganda line on the “bond” between the U.S. and Israel several times before while as a Senator, candidate and president.

Obama is incredibly naive if he thinks this will win him any credit with a racist Israeli public which despises him.
