Palestine :

Sex and the City is probably the most-trend setting show when it comes to women’s fashion. So many women I know take their fashion cues from the lead character Carry.

Shoes, bags et al.

So, you know the Palestinian Kuffiyah has made it when Carry Bradshaw is wearing one.

In this same episode, so I read, Carry has a job interview with Vogue magazine, which she calls the “Mecca” of fashion.

Kuffiyah has truly made it, of course Sex and the City was ahead of the curve.

And speaking about the Kuffiyah, Israel is naturally trying to appropriate the Kuffiyah for its own identity.

Can you blame them? I mean Israelis have stolen Palestinian land, they have also stolen Arab food and called it their own [Hummus, Shawrama, Falafeel, ect...], why not turn to the Kuffiyah as well?

The appearance of the Kuffiyah on Sex and the City is reflective of how even Arabs themselves are not so cool in America, their style is. The Kuffiyah has become the most important fashion accessory in recent years; as symbol of being cool, savvy, and hip. Hipster! I see college students smoking the shisha all the time [of course, this is a Turkish water pipe but it is Arabs that smoke it more and have popularized it outside the region], and there are many other examples. Including the “Allah” bracelet by Urban Outfitters:

Kuffiyah and the City

Of course, Zionists are none too happy. One prominent Zionist once wrote that every Kuffiyah wearer is a potential recruit to the Palestinian cause. So they have began an campaign of intimidation - that is all they know, besides killing children of course - to stop the proliferation of Arab fashion. Urban Outfitters discounted its sales of its Kuffiyah [or “anti-war scarf” as they called it], and even when it withdrew it from the stores; Zionists complained that it was still be sold online! Horror of horrors! And so they cowards at UO ended online sales as well. And the “Allah” bracelet has been discounted as well. I expect the same foul play.

But the Zionists won’t win. There side is the side of uptight, reaction, angry, boring, uncool people. They can’t not stop the ever growing tide of righteous, authentic, honest, equality and - yes - stylish Palestinian justice.

Rock the Qasbah!

I believe fashion should be spared when it comes to a fight amongst the two sects. But when I think of the arabs, I realize that I’m demanding a bit more as they just need any XYZ reason to fight.
