The late King Hussein of Jordan is widely seen as one of the most submissive, pathetic Arab leaders who has ever lived. He inherited the throne early on in life after King Talal abdicated the throne.

King Hussein quickly made a military alliance with the United States and the C.I.A. paid him in bags of cash and started the ruthless Jordanian intelligence service.

King Hussein has always been supine-less in defending Jordan against the Zionist state. In 1973, King Hussein actually warned Israel about the impending Egypt-Syria attack. Israel did not heed the forewarning.

When Jordan signed its peace treaty with Israel, King Hussein went around boosting to the West as if as an Arab he needed to prove his humanity by making peace with a state that killed and continued to kill his people.

And now the C.I.A. archives reveal this:

“He has been–and would be–able to live with an occasional nighttime foray by Israeli forces resulting in the destruction of, say, a police station and a few houses.”

What kind of leader lives with the violation of his country’s sovereignty? And as Israel preaches about Hamas attacking Israel now, remember that Israel used to invade Jordan and kill people with impunity. And it still does this in the West Bank, Gaza and south Lebanon.
