It has long been known that Michael Jackson had an inconsiderate stage-dad. Joe Jackson reportedly pushed his son excessively as a young star.

Jackson has long stated that his dad’s robbing him of a childhood and instead forcing him to over-preform is the reason Jackson felt the need to make up for a lost youth.

Joe Jackson was interested in marketing his talented children. He signed them to Motown Records when Michael was still very young. And he often signed them up for several days of back-to-back shows. That type of pressure can be overwhelming for an adult artist let alone a young kid.

Besides the lose of his childhood, Jackson expressed in a famous interview with British celebrity “journalist” Martin Bashir that Jackson’s insecurity about his physical appearance comes from his dad’s cruel remarks about Jackson’s face. Hid dad often mocked Jackson’s nose.

It is obvious to state that many of the problems that plagued Jackson in adulthood were implanted from his father’s childhood abuse.

Joe Jackson demonstrated once again his cruel disregard for his son when recently attended the BET Awards, which we dedicated to honoring the life of his son; and actually started to boost his new record company. What kind of father uses the attention derived from his son’s death to promote his business interests?

Given how distant and insensitive his father was it is not surprising that Jackson’s disclosed will reveals that nothing is left for his father. Deservedly so. That should make Joe Jackson reflect on how he treated his son and beg for posthumous forgiveness. But he is probably to vapid to do so.
