Michael Jackson’s father, Joe Jackson, announced that his son will be buried in a private Los Angeles cemetery on August 29th.

August 29th would have been Jackson’s 51st birthday. Joe Jackson, interviewed by the New York Daily News, stated that plans were finalized in recent days.

The media had already reported last week that the “King of Pop,” who died of cardiac arrest, was buried in early August. But all these reports were based on rumor, anonymous sources and never confirmed by the Jackson family or their representatives.

Jackson will be buried at the Forest Lawn cemetery.

On a separate note, Jackson’s father came under strong criticism after his son’s death for the father’s seeming indifference and using the media attention to promote his career rather than offering words of remembrance.

Jackson’s father was known to have inspired many of the self-esteem problems Jackson had by often insulting his son’s appearance and pressuring him at a very early age to preform one night after another. Jackson’s emotional problems were greatly influenced by his inconsiderate father whom demonstrated his callous behavior in front of the whole world after Jackson’s death.

Not surprisingly, Jackson did not leave anything in his will to his father.
