Sources knowledgeable about Michael Jackson’s previously planned London comeback 50-night show told the Associated Press that Jackson had produced an extravagant video titled “Dome Project” just two weeks before he died.
It is unclear what purpose exactly “Dome Project” was supposed to fulfill. The video may have served as a backdrop to Jackon’s concert. The production included a replica of the cemetery used in Jackson’s famous Thriller video. A jungle sequence along with a construction scene were also part of the production.
The shooting of “Dome” was between June 1-9th and it was shot on the same stage as “Gone with the Wind.” The entire production, according to the AP, took five weeks of planning and actually shooting.
The video is now in post-production where it is under the editing control of video music production firm Stimulated Inc. Stimulated Inc. states on its website that it was contracted to produce content for Jackson’s show.
What will become of the video now that Jackson had died remains unclear. His film will, of course, have custody of it. The question is whether they should release it to the public.
If the video is reflective of Jackson’s creative genius, then the world should have the privilege of seeing Jackson again.
