Chas Freeman - a former high-level envoy to China who translated at the Nixon-Mao meeting and a former Arabist who served as ambassador to Saudi Arabia during the Gulf War - looked like he very may well have buffed efforts by American Zionists to deny him the post of Director of National Intelligence.

Israel Lobby May Stop Chas Freeman

Freeman has committed himself to a lifetime of service to the United States, serving more than in China and Saudi Arabia but in numerous other nations. He is widely respected within the foreign policy establishment, but because he has uttered a few timid criticisms of Israel in the past pro-Israelis in the American media and the Israel lobby are trying to prevent his placement. The pro-Israel lobby has been very effective in making criticisms of Israel a cardinal sin in American politics by blocking the appointments - through pressure and sympathetic voices in the media - of any official who isn’t entirely in league with Israel. Most recently, the Israel lobby pressured the White House to retract the nomination of Anthony Zinni to be the ambassador to Iraq because Zinni is known to oppose the military option against and Iran.

With regards to Freeman, the thinking was that if their pressure on the Obama White House was going to work, Freeman would have been removed as a candidate before the Senate was informed of his nomination. The nomination does not require Senate confirmation, only notification. The Senate was informed, but the effort to dislodge Freeman has not ceased. It has in fact broadened to now encompass Nation Review - the most prominent conservative - and also neo-con - publication.

And The Weekly Standard reports that New York Senator Chuck Schumer - one of the most vocal pro-Israel voices in Congress - called White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel to voice his concerns over Freeman’s Middle East views.

And 10 Republican members of Congress have asked an independent investigator to investigate who funds Freeman’s Middle East think-tank. This investigation is proper, the American people should know how is funding Freeman.

But the point here is that all this may actually succeed in toppling Freeman, all because he criticized Israel. And then they protest when people speak about an Israel Lobby!

While much is made of the seven hundred thousand or so arabs who were displaced in 1948, little is mentioned about the eight hundred fifty thousand
Mizrachi Jews who had to flee arab persecution.
Waves of pogroms were carried out from the 1920s to
the 1960s in Arab lands. In Hebron in 1929 all the Jews who had been living there for centuries were forced out. In Iraq thousands were put in concentration camps in 1940. (Yes there were concentration camps in Arab countries.
The Irony is that Arab persecution helped populate
Israel. Six hundred thousand settled in Israel.
Unlike the Arabs who now call themselves Palestinian
they were not made stateless and confined to refugee
camps, They were given full Israeli citizenship along
with the Arabs who remained in Israel

If Obama doesn’t stand his ground on this issue, he will only be putting it off until the next Israel issue raises a flap among the Zionists. He might just as well get it over with now–because if he doesn’t, he will make Mitchell’s job–and Hillary’s and Kerry’s–more difficult.

I have a suspicion that Freeman will decline the appointment before this goes much farther. After all, does he really need this grief?

The word "Palestine" is never featured in the Bible. The word Israel occurs over 700 times.

Interestingly "Palestine" does not feature in the Koran either, guess which country does though? Israel.

Probably because Israel has been a country for over 3,000 years, and the historical revisionism which has established the monstrous lie of "Palestine" is a only a recent invention.

This book is stunning. The two authors are prominent political scientists with impeccable credentials, hailing from Harvard and the University of Chicago.

Sadly, we were very very close to a solution just a few weeks ago. Then for some unknown reason, Israel withdrew it's troops instead of completing the job. The US needs to fund an all out Israeli strike into Gaza. The strike should last until not a single peep is heard from the Palestinian complainers.

It seems as though all these people can do is whine!....oh and blow themselves up in public places...
