Israel :

The apartheid-murdering-usurping entity that is “Israel” is continuing in its plans to push out more and more Palestinians from their homes. This time in Jerusalem.

The town of Silwan in East Jerusalem is one of the oldest Palestinians centers in the city. It is also one of the most important due to the fact that Silwan is the Arab district closest to the Dome of the Rock, which the third holiest city in Islam.

Even though Jewish residents make up by far the majority with over 60% of the population in Occupied Jerusalem, that is not enough for a state like Israel that is based on ethnic supremacy and privilege. The Israeli government has for years been working to “Judaize” Jerusalem. The Apartheid Wall has been built around the city so as to disconnect it from the West and Arab homes have been routinely demolished to make way for interloping illegal Jewish settlers ; the whole and evident purpose of this is to make it impossible for the Palestinians to establish their capital in East Jerusalem. So Israel thinks.

The latest news is that Israel plans on bulldozing 88 homes in Silwan and evicting 1,500 Palestinians from those homes to make away for a park.

The AP [cited above] quoted Adnan Husseini, who is the advisor for the collaborator Mahmoud Abbass on Jerusalem Affairs, “They have made a decision to clear out 88 houses, and with about three families living in each of these houses, we’re looking at the eviction of about 1,500 people. But people in Silwan are clinging to their land and will not leave, despite the eviction orders.”

The Obama administration and the U.S. Congress will award the terrorist soldiers who will carry out the eviction.

This comes on the hells of the Israeli government and the High Court approving the uprooting of a centuries old Muslim cemetery to make way ironically for the ostensible “Museum of Tolerance.” The “Museum of Tolerance” is a Los Angeles-based institution that is building a foreign branch in apartheid “Israel”. The museum does not really care about educating people about intolerance, its sole purpose is to exploit the Holocaust so as to give cover for Israel to kill even more Palestinians. It could care less about intolerance and violence against Palestinians in particular and Arabs and Muslims in general, to the “MOT” only Israelis and Jews are worthy of sympathy. Recently, the president of the “MOT” stated that the world should not help Gaza and that the over 1,300 dead, including over 400 children, got what they deserved no less.

And Kevin Silverstein of Tikun Olam, a dovish Jewish American organization, says this about “MOT”:

Why do I have a sneaking suspicion that the only religion meant to be shown “dignity” or respect in his new museum is Judaism (and secondarily Christianity)? In fact, I’d challenge Rabbi Hier to show us any element of the museum or its exhibitions or collection that will reflect upon the valuable role Islam has played among world religions and in the realms of science, culture and art. I’d challenge him to tell us anything he has done to foster tolerance and respect for Israel’s Palestinian Muslim or Christian population through his museum. I’m waiting for an answer (but not holding my breath).

By the way, a Google internal search of the Museum of Tolerance website shows no references to “Islam” on the entire site and a single reference to “Muslim.” Instructive of Hier’s real priorities and intentions, I’d say. This museum is a charade, a monument to the monumental ego of a Hollywood rabbi who wishes to expand his domain to Israel’s holy city. Let no one be fooled by the PR and vapid assurances offered by Hier that he has the best of intentions. His intentions are to glorify Marvin Hier and his own religion and no one or nothing else. Caveat emptor.

When looks at all the crimes that Israel has committed and thinks that if there ever was a time when the Arabs may have forgiven Israel and accepted it among the nations, that time has long past.

“Jerusalem: No plans yet to raze Arab homes in area designated for park
By Reuters

“Jerusalem officials said on Tuesday they had no immediate plans to demolish scores of Arab homes in the east of the city, but confirmed that they had designated the area for a park.

“Palestinians said on Monday the Israeli-controlled municipality of Jerusalem was preparing to evict 1,500 Palestinians and demolish 88 homes in East Jerusalem’s Silwan district, to convert it into an open public space.

“The dispute is part of a wider conflict over Jerusalem. Israel regards all of the city as its capital, including East Jerusalem and adjacent parts of the West Bank captured in the 1967 Six-Day War.

“Ahead of next week’s visit by new U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Palestinian officials are seeking support against what they say are Israeli plans to drive Arabs from the city and cut off occupied Arab East Jerusalem from territory on which they hope to establish a Palestinian state.

“City officials said there were no immediate plans to evict Palestinians from Silwan or demolish any homes, but the mayor of Jerusalem, Nir Barkat, confirmed in a statement the area was scheduled for use as a recreational area.

“The city’s deputy mayor, Naomi Tsur, told Reuters that Barkat’s administration, elected in November, was working on a zoning plan for the area but vowed first to seek an ”understanding with all the residents of the city.”

“Silwan, a mostly Palestinian neighborhood next to Jerusalem’s old walled city and its holy sites, has been a flashpoint of conflict.

“U.S. special envoy George Mitchell was due in the region for talks ahead of Clinton’s planned visit to Israel and the Palestinian territories on March 3.

“Rafiq al-Husseini, chief of staff for Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, took foreign diplomats on a tour on Tuesday of another disputed settlement zone near Jerusalem, known as E1.

“‘If the Israelis continue with this settlement policy in and outside of East Jerusalem then there cannot be peace at all,’ Husseini said of the E1 plan.

“Palestinians say the plan could prevent the creation of a contiguous Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.”

Remember something every engineer knows all to well: “Every plan is a basis for changes.” If an arrangement can’t be made (which would have to include alternative housing at government expense), then the location of the proposed park will have to be changed. The rest is smoke and mirrors.

A “contiguous Palestinian state” would have to be at the expense of the territorial integrity of Israel. It’s wishful thinking to believe that Israel would ever agree to that. At best, there would be a “free transit corridor” going across Israel between Gaza and the West Bank.
