France :

Of course, the French foreign minister did not make the threat or warning on behalf of his own nation of La France but on behalf of Israel. While in Beirut, Bernard Kouchner spoke about whether Iran will agree to a United Nations-deal for the nation to send its low-enriched uranium to Russia for further processing.
French Foreign Minister Warns Iran of an Attack
Kouchner warned that if Iran continued to stall and refused to cooperate with U.S.-led negotiations, the nation could face an attack by Israel. “They [the Israelis] will not tolerate an Iranian bomb,” Kouchner told a British daily.

“We know that, all of us. So that is an additional risk and that is why we must decrease the tension and solve the problem. Hopefully we are going to stop this race to a confrontation,” he added.

Kouchner went on to state that Israel is offering the world time “before reacting, Israel will react as soon as they know clearly that there is a threat.”

Iran dismissed Kouchner’s words and stated that the Zionist regime is at its weakest point.

France has been incredibly hawkish on Iran. Nicholar Sarkozy wants to be France’s Bush and sound so tough against Iran. He has been hawkish since day, even more than Bush, and his foreign minister famously uttered that Iran cannot get the bomb and thus it is “Iranian bomb or bomb Iran” or words to that effect. Sarkozy has stated that it is a certainty that Iran is working on a nuclear weapons program, and added that he would not shake hands with someone who wanted to destroy Israel in a recent interview.

This is all so annoying because it is all such empty rhetoric. So Sarko doesn’t want to shake Mahmoud’s hand, neither do I. Leaving aside the debate of whether Iran should have nuclear capability of even a bomb; France’s words are nonsense and undermine French credibility because France does not have the capable to anything military against Iran. All the hawkish words are empty, no more no less. Sarkozy wants to be a strong leader, but his stands on hollow grounds. When France speaks about “bombing Iran” it means it prays the U.S. or Israel will do it. France would never bomb Iran even if the Iranians would dare them to. Does anyone believe all the hawkish rhetoric of Sarko? It is all empty nonsense.

France better stop lest it embarrass itself some more by once again confirming France’s status as a has-been power.

Instead of lecturing the world, Sarkozi, this arrogant and ignorant leader of France should start reducing their WMDs, as required by the IAEA that they quote so regularly against Iran. Sarkozi has zero credibility to pontificate nonproliferation when his country is in clear violation of Article 6 (elimination of nukes).
