Paul Staniszewski is a retired Canadian judge from Ontario who in the 1980s established scholarships at two local universities: University of Windsor and York University.
Three $1,000 scholarships at Windsor and one [amount unspecified] scholarship York.
There isn’t an institution in the world that has done more to advance the ideals of the Enlightenment than a university. Funding the study of students is one of the most honorable legacy one can have. Unfortunately, Staniszewski has decided he’d rather have bigotry be his legacy.
Staniszewski is justifiable angry about the grotesque violence of the Taliban - “I’m reacting to what’s going on to people who aren’t even soldiers, who are having their heads beheaded and this stuff is shown on the TVs and everything else.” - and instead understand that the Taliban are a fanatical terrorist group whom have no even close to being representative of Muslims, Staniszewski decides instead to smear all Muslims with such fundamentalists. It is because of that Staniszewski wants to bar Muslims from being awarded his scholarship by the university.

“I’m cutting off applications for help in their studies,” he stated. Their studied? This guy things that Muslims who study in university are of the same cloth and studying the same thing that obscurantist Taliban thugs do. Such his is bigotry toward Muslims.
Staniszewski has taken his motion to the universities.
“It goes without saying that our position is that we don’t discriminate against our students and that is not an acceptable restriction,” said a spokesman for Windsor. York University has not commented. It is unimaginable that either university would accept such a intolerant restriction. It is not clear that Staniszewski will suspend the scholarship if the universities refuse to compile.
But then who would want to accept support from such a retrograde individual.
