We don’t often hear about events in the this tiny island monarchy, but the people of Bahrain have recently made their presence known by marching in solidarity with their Palestinian brethren.
Anti-Arab Western commentators often like to state that the Arab world is nothing but a benighted region where the concepts of justice and human rights are foreign to the Arabs. That Arabs, particularly oil rich Arabs, do not care about lofty ideals. But they do, and they do make their voices heard. Arabs just care about causes that are unpopular in the United States - the Palestinians - and thus they are often ignored when they register such protest.

But it is important to know and see this, particularly because many American commentators find it advantageous to deny the importance of the Palestinian cause in being the main obstacle toward a more harmonious East-West relationship.
The following are photos from a Bahraini rally in support of the Palestinians, particularly those suffering collective punishment right now in Gaza for over a year.
