Amazon’s Kindle has been an incredible surprise success for the company which recently has launched a new Kindle model and had to establish a waiting list during the Christmas season due to high demand.
Kindle may be described as Amazon’s iPad. A cutting edge gadget that has attracted a wide range of people following from avid readers to those who want their newspapers portable. But now Amazon’s golden gadget may come under attack by a soon-to-be-relieved rival from Apple.
Although nothing can be confirmed until Apple’s scheduled June conference, a press release hints and an inside sources states that Apple is planning to launch its own tablet. It will be about the size of the Kindle, so the reports say, but will a larger screen. Think of it as a jumbo iPad. Given Apple’s iTunes and App store, service not matched by Amazon in any circumstance, the Apple iPad may take strong hold of the Kindle-market the way the iPad has dominated the mp3 market.
Amazon must be fretting about the prospect of a showdown with a highly-competitive company with a reputation for innovation and high-quality.
Given the look of Amazon’s Kindle 2.0, the firm should be worried. The Kindle still lacks color, the design isn’t all impressive and, most importantly, the screen-to-device ration is too small still:

No one knows what an iPad will look like, but if it resembles any of these artists’ projection Apple should have no problem being a dominant player, if not the dominant, and revolutionizing another industry:
