When a government defines itself as a “Jewish state” and engages in discrimination against 23% of its population simply because they are Arab that is apartheid. When a government occupies a people for nearly 42 years and denies them all basic rights simply because they are Arabs and its covets their lands for its Jewish citizens that is apartheid.
When a government builds Jewish only settlements and Jewish only roads in that occupied territory that is apartheid. When a govt. engages in over 23,500 house demolitions simply because the people living in them are Arabs that is apartheid. When a government neglects its own neighborhoods and denies them the permits to build homes simply because it wants to reduce the Arab population within its borders that is apartheid.
When a government reserves more water for Jewish settlers than for the occupied Arabs that is apartheid. When a government threatens its Arab citizens with loyalty oaths and explosion that is apartheid. When a government... and on and on and on. Some may say that apartheid does not exist in Israel because both Arabs and Jews are Semitic peoples. This is a bullshit excuse for Israel’s apartheid regime. Arabs and Jews are branches of the Semitic peoples and ethnic and religious [against Muslims and Christians] apartheid is established against them. Israel clearly discriminates against the Arab peoples whom are a different people from the Jews.
And here is further proof of the vileness of the apartheid government in Occupied Palestine or “Israel”.
Israel plans on demolishing hundreds of homes in the Arab neighborhood of Silwan in East Jerusalem. The whole purpose of this is to push more and more Arabs out of Jerusalem in order to “Judaize” the city so as to prevent the Palestinians - so Israel thinks - from every building their capital there.
Israel claims that they demolitions are not politically or ethnically based, but just a routine demolition of homes “built without a permit.” But as Philip Weiss notes this is pure bullshit: The Israeli government attempts to give home demolitions the veneer of legality by claiming they’re simply carried out against buildings that have been built, or added to, illegally. What is conveniently ignored is Israel’s discriminatory practice of not providing services and legal permission for Palestinians to build. This lack of permission often leads Palestinians to “break the law” to perform regular maintenance on their home.

The European Union condemned the planned ethnic cleansing:
The EU report goes further, saying that the demolitions are “illegal under international law, serve no obvious purpose, have severe humanitarian effects, and fuel bitterness and extremism.” The EU raised its concern in a formal diplomatic representation on December 1, it says.
It notes that although Palestinians in the east represent 34% of the city’s residents, only 5%-10% of the municipal budget is spent in their areas, leaving them with poor services and infrastructure.
Israel issues fewer than 200 permits a year for Palestinian homes and leaves only 12% of East Jerusalem available for Palestinian residential use. As a result many homes are built without Israeli permits. About 400 houses have been demolished since 2004 and a further 1,000 demolition orders have yet to be carried out, it said.
And even the U.S. government is, finally, taking notice:
Israel is under increased pressure from the United States over settlement construction. In the past month, since Barack Obama was sworn in as U.S. president, Israel has received four official complaints from members of the new administration regarding various issues linked to West Bank settlements.
A senior government official in Jerusalem told Haaretz that the complaints represent a gradual increase in American pressure vis-a-vis settlement activity. “This is going to be one of the main issues that the Obama administration will be dealing with in the coming weeks and months,” the official said. “It is not going to be easy to argue with them.”
The four separate complaints relate to the demolition of Palestinian-owned homes in East Jerusalem, reports of Israeli plans to construct additional housing in the E1 area, between Maaleh Adumim and Jerusalem, the relocation of the illegal outpost at Migron to a new, as-yet unbuilt neighborhood of the Adam settlement and to plans to build thousands of new residential units in the settlement of Efrat.
When a government refuses to issue permits because the recipient is an Arab and then demolishes his home and the home of other Arabs simply because they are Arabs and the government wants to make room for Jews, THAT IS APARTHEID!!!

Absolutely right. EVERY Islamic state practices apartheid, according to his definition. But mindless, ignorant people misinterpret, for their own purposes words like ’apartheid’ and ’genocide’.
Another blogger very clearly described in a comment and a blog, what ’apartheid’ does and does not mean. Marco chose to ignore it.
There was also a scathing article written by a Bedouin Arab Israeli, who happens to be the Vice Consul of Israel in San Francisco, who clearly states Israel is not an apartheid state, and why those who claim it is are doing a disservice to those moderates who are trying to establish peace in that region.
I wrote a post on my other blog the whole issue. Very sad there are so many ignorant people out there.
Can you tell me how many Moslim countries allow intermarriage without conversion?
Is a Jewish man allowd to marry a Muslim woman in Saudi Arabia? How about other Arab states?

You are far from consistent. Your article ignores all the similar problem in the Arab states and picks onf Israel alone. Do you know what this is called...

As a typical Arabist you adress the problem sof ISrael and ignore the problems that are more severe in the Arab countries. This is typical. Pick on Israel and ugnore the Arab and Muslim problems.
In addition, you place the words ”Ethnic Cleansing” in your title. The Arabs in PPa;estine are just plain Arabs. They are no different from the Jordanians, Egyptians, Lebanese, etc. They have admitted this in wrting many times. Therefore a chage of Ethnic Cleansing is a outright fraud, since Isral would need to eliminate Arabs in all the other countries to be charged with Ethnic Cleansing, and to do it on a muxh more massive scale. Israle only retaliates for terror inside Israel. Israel does not initiate the volence in the middle-east. The Arabs DO!

So those are your standards? You are moral depraved for judging an injustice only in terms of scale.
By your vile standards if the Nazis killed ”only,” say, one million Jews that would not be a genocide. But more than that, by your standards even the killing of six million Jews is not genocide because, after all, the Nazis did not kill all the Jews just like you argue Israel is not engaging in ethnic cleansing because, after all, Israel is not ”eliminat[ing] Arabs in all the other countries.”
No, genocide or ethnic cleansing is what it is irrespective of scale.
And as for singling out Israel. Of course I do that, and proud of it. I do not support the regimes in the Arab world, and have written many posts against them. But the situation for Arabs in Occupied Palestine/”Israel” is worse than in any other country and it is for that reason that I purposely single out Israel for criticism.
And it took you three posts to call me an anti-Semite. I probably should give you some credit for that; apologists for Israel usually do so on the first try.
As to a matter of scale, that is important. I also mentioned that a plan was important when a call of genocide is made. Hitler had a plan for murdering all the Jews in Europe. This plan and the estimate that 6 million innocent Jews were murdered makes a perfect case for Genocide.
Ethnic Cleansing is just a buzzword from you. More Muslims/Arabs are killed by their own people than by the Jews. So you are just being foolish to accuse the Israelis of Ethnic Cleansing.

When we can except -that we are the same species and doing harm to someone is doing harm to ourselfs, then and only then will humans get along ,but that could never happen because each culture and religon brainwashes their people to only see what was forced on them
