The Anti-Defamation League is one of the most phony organizations in the world. Ostensibly committed to fighting bigotry, it has become a bigoted organization. Its sole reason d’etre is championing Israel and Zionism and accusing all opponents of the two of being closet anti-Semites.
Anti-Defamation League Expresses Concern About Lations
Its leader, Abe Foxman, is a delusion buffoon who cannot stop Crying Wolf about perceived - fabricated - anti-Semitism. It is understandable to a degree. All ethnic groups committed to combating prejudice against the community must exaggerate in order to frighten fellow [fill in the blank] into continuing to support these supposedly needed organizations. But Foxman and the ADL is so hysterical and unfounded in the language and tone that they end up doing more harm to their cause then good. Anti-Semitism is still around in American, but American Jews are the most privileged minority par excellence. And to brand every tepid critic of the Jewish state as a anti-Semite is to cheapen the word against real anti-Semites.

Beyond their extreme guarding of anything Israeli, the organization demonstrates bigotry to any community that may be less than sympathetic to Israel. The ADL [and cohorts] have repeatedly demonized Arab-American and Muslim-American organizations and political officials in order to undermine the rising political influence of the community, and thus maintain hegemonic control over the political debates dealing with Israel. The ADL in the past has actually stood in the way of Muslim appointees to government committees. And this is an organization that stops just short of calling someone a Nazi if the utter the slightest criticism of pro-Israel groups in America.

Arabs and Muslims are favorite targets, but now the ADL is concerned about the growing black and particularly Latino communities because they make like Israel a little less than whites:

In general today, one of the long-term challenges for the American Jewish community is evident in demographic forecasts that predict that in two or three decades, certain minority groups are expected to become a majority in the United States. A recent ADL poll showed that 12 percent of Americans hold anti-Semitic views – but among African-Americans, the figure is 28 percent, and among foreign-born Hispanics it is 35 percent.

“If 20 years from now the largest caucus in Congress is Hispanic, they will have a great deal to say about where foreign aid goes,” says Foxman. “On church-state issues and all kinds of social issues – some of which impact directly on the Jewish community and some indirectly – they will have a great influence. We are working on it now, so as they become the majority force, there is a sensitivity, a relationship. It’s a major challenge.”

The only thing Foxman is concerned about is foreign aid to Israel. He would trade everything for Zionism. Do not be too surprised if the ADL starts to demonized Latinos because they are perceived to be indifferent to Israel and maybe - gosh! - pro-Arab. And do not be surprised if the powerful ADL then poses as the innocent and naive victim of hateful Latinos all the while working behind the scenes to thwart any Latino balanced between Israel and the oppressed Palestinians.

We will be watching to see whether MSU caves in to this lying bully of a bigot. It really doesn't get any more cynical than this guy. I used to think he believed in what he was saying, but I have come to think that he really only believes in the general outline of the cause of Zionism, but not in the actual rhetoric he employs.
