Nearly eight years since 9/11 American prejudice against Islam has recorded an all-time high.
In a new poll conducted jointly by The Washington Post and ABC News, 48% of Americans polled say they have an unfavorable view of Islam. Only 41% say favorable. 11% recorded No Opinion. 29% of those polled stated that even “mainstream” Islam is conducive to violence against non-Muslims. Almost paradoxically, 58% of all respondents agree that Islam is a religion of peace.
The polling also revealed [or re-revealed] three important points. First, ignorance toward Islam still predates American society. 55% of American admit to a lack of understanding of Islam’s basic tenets. And the slight majority state they do not know any Muslims. 53%, as opposed to 47% who know at least one Muslim. The lack of understanding of Islam can only be an opening for professional Islamophobes to further malign Islam with their anthology of lies. Muslim-American and Arab-American organization still have a lot of word to do.
The second point that is very important is that prejudice toward Muslims is more common among Republicans than Democrats. But even here the numbers are cold comfort for Muslims. While 60% of Republicans [65% of conservative Republicans] have a negative view of Islam, 40% of Democrats do so as well. Even amongst self-identified liberal Democrats, only 60% hold a favorable view. Although in the minority, such widespread prejudice against Muslims even amongst left-of-center Americans is a testament to how much animosity toward Islam is rooted in America. And this prejudice predates September 11, 2001. Decades of Hollywood films, propaganda by Israel and its domestic supporters, political rhetoric against the Muslim enemy, and the media’s generalizations and vilification of Muslims have engendered a nuanced and acceptable racism against Arabs and Muslims.
Thirdly, prejudice against Muslims is most acute among American evangelicals. This is not surprising considering the nation’s fundamentalist preachers attack Islam as pseude-faith and a threat to Christian dominance in the world. Conversely, atheist or agnostic Americans are the most tolerant.
As stated in the aforementioned, Muslim-American groups have a full plate on their hands.

The US and the UK are being targeted for attacks, what do you expect? The whole world just supposed to sit around while Muslims blow up buildings, trains and airports? Muslims are to be allowed to kill whoever they want just so victims of Muslim violence won’t be called racists?
That scurrilous charge of racism is getting old and you can’t hide behind it forever.
Hydrophobiacs suffer an obsessional fear of water. Islamophobia must be for those who fear Islam but not the ”Terrorists”.The sensible coinage must be ”Terroristophobia”. As such Islam teaches peace,nothing but peace.
The Chapter 22:Verse:40 of Holy Quran says to defend all worshipping places,like churches,Synagogues,monastries and mosques if they are feared to be pulled down. All other fightings mentioned in the Holy Quran are quite defensive. There is no single verse in the Holy Quran to cite that any aggression to be initiated.
Lord Jesus taught love and telerance.He sshed his blood for the sins of mankind as an atonement.
I would best suggest to go through the history of Christian Holy Wars by the ancient popes in the name of Crusaders,how the muslims were massacred in the name Jesus and caused the muslims to shed blood. Cannot one coin a phrase as ”Christophobia”(May God Forbid it),as far the Crusades and Holy wars are concerned? An indepth and sympathetic,comparative studies,constructive critical analysis will prove the truth. The hostile mind is always hostile.
It is a fear of Islam and a justifiable fear so it cannot be called a phobia.
Where do you think terrorists get the idea that they should go out and force Islam on the world?

Qur’an:9:112 ”The Believers fight in Allah’s Cause, they slay and are slain, kill and are killed.”

Chapter(Repentance) 9:112 of Holy Quran reads as follows:(Triumphant) are those
who turn repentant(to Allah),those who serve (Him)those who praise(Him)those who bow down,those who fall prostrate(in worship),those who enjoying the right and who forbid the wrong and those who keep the limits(ordained)of Allah-and give glad tiding believers!

Lord Jesus Christ never said one word to take revnge of any one. Where did say to take swords. Kindly go through the history of ancient holy wars in the name Crusades which massacred hundreds and thousands of Muslims. Muslims believe in Jesus Christ as son of virgin Mary, and a Messiah.
PICKTHAL: Lo! Allah hath bought from the believers their lives and their wealth because the Garden will be theirs: they shall fight in the way of Allah and shall slay and be slain. It is a promise which is binding on Him in the Torah and the Gospel and the Qur’an. Who fulfilleth His covenant better than Allah? Rejoice then in your bargain that ye have made, for that is the supreme triumph.
I know full well the history of the crusades and that is exactly what they are...HISTORY.
What we are talking about is happening TODAY, every day, right now, it is not history, it is the present, we can do nothing about history, but we can change the present.
P.S. Throwing in bits about Jesus to make it sound legitimate is pointless, one fantasy is just as dangerous as the other.
