Everyone is familiar with anti-Semitism against Jews, and every decent person should and does denounce bigotry against the Jewish people.
But what about bigotry against the other Semites: Arabs? Check out this ironic book cover:

I, of course, do not object to the purpose and content of this book. There has been a resurgence of anti-Semitism in recent years. I am a passionate anti-Zionist, make no mistake about it, but I oppose anti-Semitism and do not welcome anti-Semites into the Palestinian cause. It should be noted that such a practice separates me from Israel’s support who do not mind welcoming anti-Semites as long as they express support for Israel. That is why Israel has an alliance with the Christian Right in American, which is pro-Israel but holds prejudices views towards Jews and seeks to convert them. The only reason Evangelical Christians support Israel is because they view its creation as a precursor to the Second Coming of Christ. Influential American right-wing pastor John Hagee has called the Holocaust God’s command, because it paved the way for the creation of Israel which would otherwise not have been supported by the Western world if the West did not have Holocaust guilt. Hagee is clearly grotesque to call the genocide of 6 million people “God’s command,” but he has still been embraced by Israeli prime ministries and pro-Israelis in America such as Senator Joe Lieberman.
Anyhow, the content of this book may be fine as long as it does not conflate anti-Semitism with anti-Zionism.
But what is objectionable here is the cover: how the Arab men and the Palestinian flag? Yes, it is true, that there are Arabs in Europe who are anti-Semitism and some criminally act on it. But this cover is nothing by bigotry because it plays on the image of Arabs/Muslims are hateful, atavistic people. And notice the Palestinian flag?
This photo is clearly from a pro-Palestinian rally, and, yet, the book cover seeks to imply that a pro-Palestinian rally is anti-Semitic. This is an unfair cover for a book dealing with anti-Semitism, particularly since Christian skinheads commit most anti-Semitic crimes.
Such a cover is meant to do nothing more than malign Arab political activism and pro-Palestinian sentiment.
This book was sponsored by the American Jewish Committee and the Southern Poverty Law Center. The involvement of the AJC is a book with a cover like this does not surprise me, but the SPLC was a civil-right pioneer. It is written Ken Stern, a liberal written who has previously written an entire book in support of the Red Power Native American rights movement. But he is one of those PEPs: Progressive Expect Palestine.
You see, here are the rules in America: racism is bad unless it is against Arabs and Muslims and war and killing of innocents are bad unless the victims are Palestinians, and all people [like the indigenous Native Americans] are entitled to demand their rights against occupation expect Palestinians.
American liberals champion the cause of Native Americans and Tibet, but do not saw a word for the Palestinians. Forgot about being anti-Zionist, one can be pro-Israel and against the occupation. But American liberals are mostly silent in the face of the longest military occupation in the history of the world. They are a disgraceful bunch.
