349 Palestinians Die in Medical Care in GazaThe world watched Israeli armaments, in great deal provided by the United States, cruelly bombed the blockaded Palestinians in the Gaza Stripe. Since 2006, 1.5 million Palestinians in Gaza have been subject to an international blockade. Since 2007, such collective punishment has been tightened to allow only a drip-supply of food into the occupied territory.

80% of Palestinians in Gaza are dependent on the United Nations for food. Hundreds of thousands of children are anemic. Since Israel’s most recent war in December/January - which killed over 900 Palestinian civilians including over 400 children - thousands of Palestinians remain homeless [4,100 homes destroyed and over 15,000 damaged] living in tents like their grandparents did when Israeli expelled them from their homes in 1948 Palestine. 90% of Palestinians suffer power cuts. 32,000 have no running water. 100,000 get water once in every two or three days. This is what the Palestinians are suffering from.

But the the continuing destruction that Israel has brought on the Palestinians does not end there. And Israel is not alone here. The vile, un-Islamic regime of Hosni Mubraka is also directly responsible for the death of Palestinians.

The Gaza Stripe borders Egypt, so the blockade could be broken if Egypt allowed it to be. But the Egyptians refuse. They actively support the blockade by forbidding transfers - food, supplies - in and also deny Palestinians the right to cross in need of medical care.

Palestinians have died on hospital beds by the Rafah crossing as Egyptian authorities denied them the right to pass.

With the combined cutting off of medical supplies and the Israeli-Egyptian blockade, 349 Palestinians have denied of awaiting surgery or medicine in Gaza since the end of major Israeli operations.

349 more Palestinians. Each and everyone will never be forgotten nor will their deaths every be forgiven.

Marco, one of the reasons Gazans (and West Bankers) can’t get appropriate medical treatment at home is that the governments cared more about stealing the money given by international sources than they did about providing a decent infrastructure for their constituents.

Why don’t you also note that Egypt under King Farouk and President Nasser kept the Gaza Palestinians penned up the same way between 1949 and 1967? Egypt wants no part of the Palestinians– Israel did not have to ”convince” Egypt of anything. Have you ever wondered why no one in the Middle East wants the Palestinians?
